Ohmx Corporation is developing electronic biosensor-based products incorporating a proprietary technology that advances and simplifies biological testing for the in vitro diagnostics, food safety and bioterrorism industries. These industries depend on a broad range of tests, called immunoassays, to detect human proteins such as hormones and tumor markers or infectious agents such as bacteria and viruses.
Ohmx’s technology allows for the simultaneous detection of up to 100 targets on a single chip by coupling electronic detection and biological molecules – a landmark advance in protein analysis with the potential to lower costs and improve the quality and reliability of immunoassays.
The company's technology was pioneered by Dr. Harry Gray, Ohmx scientific advisory board member and current professor at the California Institute of Technology, and Dr. Thomas Meade, Founder and Chairman of the Board at Ohmx. This revolutionary research yielded a new, simple and easy way to electronically detect a wide variety of targets such as proteins, biomarkers, bacteria, viruses and mold. Ohmx began operations in January 2005, to develop rapid, accurate and cost effective biosensor-based systems.
